Roger Chapman „Chappo“ begann 1966 seine internationale Karriere als Frontmann der Band FAMILY. Der kompakte Stil der Band, der in außergewöhnlicher Weise von dem Zusammenspiel von Chapman´s Gesang mit Saxophon und Violine geprägt war, schuf eine solide Basis für Chapman‘s schneidenden und röhrenden Gesangsstil. Der legendäre Auftritt im WDR - Rockpalast, brachte für ihn den Durchbruch, denn seine Version des Rolling Stones Songs "Let’s Spend The Night Together“ stieg 1980 hoch in die deutschen Charts ein. 1981 folgte Roger‘s größter Hit: die Mike Oldfield Komposition „Shadows On The Wall“. „Hyenas only laugh for fun“ war 1981 das Rock Album des Jahres in Deutschland. 1989 veröffentlichte Roger Chapman das sensationelle ‘Walking The Cat‘ Album welches sich hoch in den deutschen Charts platzieren konnte. Der niemals an den Ruhestand denkende Chapman veröffentlichte 2009 ein außergewöhnliches Doppel-Album „Hide Go Seek“ 28 Spuren von verloren gegangenen Edelsteinen hatte er gesucht und gefunden. Nur 8 der 28 Track waren bereits vorher in anderen Versionen veröffentlicht.
