Fifth album from this incredible instrumental quartet from Munich. The instrumental band is led by keyboardist Andreas Kainz. Hammond organ is his primary instrument but there is a lot of Fender Rhodes, synthesizers and Mellotron in his arsenal. At points in the album he manages to get sounds out of the organ that are totally evocative of Dave Stewart at his rauchiest. I don‘t want to downplay the guitarwork of Louis Bankvas. He plays off of Kainz perfectly. The rhythm section lays down a rock solid foundation for the musical madness.
While the previous albums showed an influence from Embryo this one much less so. Sure - lots of Canterbury vibes but it has a lot of krautrock in its DNA. So you get this amalgam of jazz rock, krautrock, psychedelia, and full on prog all served up with tremendous energy. We need more bands like Karaba. This is the real goods that delivers from the opening notes.
