Toad was a conglomeration of Swiss and German musicians, but their sound was pretty damn American in style. Consider that most of the German bands of the day performed in a more formal, fancy style (Armageddon, Lucifer‘s Friend, Night Sun) Toad sound positively loose and horny by comparison, like Cream on slightly stronger medication. It‘s far from sloppy, though, these lads bringing with them a prime amount of chops, essential to the successful power trio experience.
