The Pineapple Thief haben die Multi-Format-Veröffentlichung von Nothing But The Truth auf Kscope am 22. Oktober angekündigt.

Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres letzten Studioalbums Versions Of The Truth im September 2020 bereitete sich die Band darauf vor, die Live-Kampagne des Albums zu starten, als ihre Pläne wie bei so vielen anderen Künstlern durch die anhaltende globale Pandemie auf Eis gelegt wurden.

Um dennoch auftreten und mit ihren Fans auf der ganzen Welt in Kontakt treten zu können, filmten The Pineapple Thief im April 2021 ein extravagantes On-Demand-Live-Event mit dem Titel Nothing But The Truth unter der Regie von Band-Videograf George Laycock (Blacktide Phonic/Visual).

Bruce Soord erklärt: "Bei The Pineapple Thief geht es gleichermaßen um das Studio und die Bühne, daher war es sehr enttäuschend, dass wir nicht auf Tour gehen konnten, zumal wir uns sehr darauf gefreut haben, das neue Album "Versions Of The Truth" live für alle zu präsentieren. Die Möglichkeit, diesen Film zu drehen, war von unschätzbarem Wert, besonders unter diesen Umständen. Es war eine so fremde Zeit und eine fremde Sache, die man tun musste. Ja, wir waren alle schon einmal vor Kameras aufgetreten, aber das war etwas anderes. Wir spielten ein brandneues, einmaliges Set, das in alle Ecken der Welt übertragen werden sollte, und standen auf unseren kleinen Inseln im Kreis, und überall waren Kameras. Der Druck war groß. Wir mussten es einfach schaffen!

Wir wussten alle, dass wir keinen Film drehen wollten, in dem wir auf der Bühne stehen und in einen leeren Raum starren. Wir wollten etwas Besonderes, etwas "Filmisches", und so haben wir etwas Einzigartiges und etwas ganz, ganz Besonderes geschaffen, auf das ich stolz bin, ein Teil davon gewesen zu sein. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, dass die Leute es sehen und hören. Es ist wirklich das Sahnehäubchen auf dem Kuchen, dass unsere Show in einem "physischen" Format veröffentlicht wird. Zum ersten Mal haben wir einen Dolby Atmos Immersive Mix auf der Blu-ray, sowie DTS-HD 5.1 und High-Definition Stereo. Die Deluxe-Edition ist wundervoll und ich für meinen Teil werde ihr einen stolzen Platz in meiner Sammlung einräumen. Ein besonderes Andenken an einen besonderen Tag."

Nothing But The Truth zeigt The Pineapple Thief von ihrer besten Seite und präsentiert Songs aus ihrem illustren Katalog, darunter zum ersten Mal live Songs von Versions Of The Truth.

The Blu-ray & DVD discs feature the full performance plus a dedicated ‘Drumcam‘ option so fans of Gavin Harrison can watch the entire drum performance. The soundtrack to TPT’s stunning filmed performance Nothing But The Truth. Led by Bruce Soord and reinforced by the legendary Gavin Harrison on drums, Nothing But The Truth captures The Pineapple Thief at its best performing songs from its illustrious catalogue (including for the first time live, songs from Versions Of The Truth). Following the release of Versions Of The Truth in September 2020, the band was preparing to start the album’s live campaign, when like so many other artists their plans were put on hold by the continuing global pandemic. Eager to still perform and connect with fans across the globe, in April 2021, The Pineapple Thief filmed an extravagant on demand live event entitled Nothing But The Truth directed by band videographer George Laycock. Bruce Soord explains” “The Pineapple Thief is equally about the studio and the stage so it was hugely disappointing that we were unable to tour, especially as we were excited to be able to perform the new album Versions Of The Truth live. Being able to do this film, especially under the circumstances, was invaluable. We all knew we did not want to shoot a film of us standing on stage staring at an empty room. We wanted something special, something ‘cinematic‘ so we have created something unique and something very, very special that I am proud to have been a part of.
