Tigermoth Productions veröffentlicht die erste Blu-ray mit Francis Dunnery‘s It Bites.

Das Konzert dauert über 2 Stunden und enthält 16 erstaunliche It Bites-Tracks aus ihren drei klassischen Studioalben. Die Show wurde letzten Januar im KK Steel Mill in Wolverhampton aufgenommen, während der neuesten Tournee der Band. Es war mein Gitarrenheld Steve Hackett, der meine Meinung darüber geändert hat, It Bites fortzusetzen. Nachdem ich leidenschaftlich "Dancing With a Moonlit Knight" auf Steves großartigem Genesis Revisited 2-Projekt gesungen hatte, war ich überglücklich, als er sich bereit erklärte, den Gefallen zu erwidern und bei einem Auftritt auf dem berühmten Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children‘s Fund Musikfestival in meiner Heimatstadt in Cumbria aufzutreten. Ich habe ihn direkt gefragt, warum er weiterhin alte Genesis-Musik spielt, und er sagte: "Ich fand die Musik immer sehr besonders und wollte, dass sie weitergeht, damit die Leute sie immer noch genießen können". Nachdem ich Millionen von E-Mails und Nachrichten sowohl persönlich als auch online über die Fortsetzung von It Bites erhalten hatte, beschloss ich, mein Bestes zu geben und diese alten Songs auf Vordermann zu bringen und für die Öffentlichkeit bereitzustellen. Diese neue Aufnahme kommt dem Original der Band und den Original-Liveshows so nahe wie möglich. Wir sind bis ins kleinste Detail gegangen, um diese wunderbaren alten Melodien nachzubilden, und meine Band, bestehend aus Luke Machin, Pete Jones, Paul Brown, Bjorn Fryklund und Quint Starkie, hat keinen Stein ungedreht gelassen, um es richtig zu machen. Was wir hier haben, ist wahrscheinlich die klanglich beste Version dieser Songs, die es gibt, die beste Bildqualität und die vollständigsten Versionen der Songs, die jemals live gespielt wurden. Wir haben auch eine Reihe von Songs, die zuvor noch nicht auf einem Live-Format veröffentlicht wurden. Mit einem neuen Studioalbum, das im Dezember aufgenommen wird, glaube ich, dass dies eine fantastische Darstellung der Band und der Live-Show von 2023 ist, an der wir alle so hart gearbeitet haben. Die Location war perfekt, das Publikum war begeistert und die Band war in Topform. Francis Dunnery’s It Bites.

The concert runs at over 2 hours and features 16 amazing It Bites tracks from their three classic studio albums. The show was recorded last January at KK Steel Mill, Wolverhampton, on the band’s latest tour.

Francis Dunnery, who has just release a blues album ‘The Blues Of Tomstone Dunnery’ is currently working on a brand new Francis Dunnery’s It Bites studio album, the first It Bites album featuring Francis since “Eat Me In St. Louis” from 1989.

Francis Dunnery:

It was my guitar hero Steve Hackett who changed my mind about continuing It Bites. After emphatically singing ‘Dancing With a Moonlit Knight’ on Steve’s brilliant Genesis Revisited 2 project, I was utterly excited beyond belief when he agreed to return the favour and play a gig for me at the infamous Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund music festival in my home town in Cumbria. I asked him outright why he continues to play old Genesis music and he said “I always thought the music to be very special and I wanted it to continue so that people could still get to enjoy it”. After receiving a million emails and messages both in person and online about continuing It Bites, I decided to give it my best shot and get those old songs spruced up and ready for the general public.

This new recording is about as close as you will get to the original band and the original live shows. We went deep into detail to recreate these wonderful old tunes and my band, comprising of Luke Machin, Pete Jones, Paul Brown, Bjorn Fryklund and Quint Starkie, left no stone unturned in our commitment to getting it right. What we have here is probably the best sonically sounding version of these songs that are out there, the best picture quality and the most complete versions of the songs ever played live. We also have a bunch of songs that haven’t been released on any live format before this time.

With a new studio album about to be recorded in December, I believe this is a fantastic representation of the band and the 2023 live show that we all worked so hard to achieve. The venue was perfect, the crowd were all hyped and the band were smokin hot. Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the brand new It Bites FD Blu-ray/2CD aptly entitled ‘Live From The Black Country’.
