Bandleader Steve Babb sagt hierzu folgendes:
Glass Hammer’s Steve Babb recently announced the release of UNTOLD TALES, a collection of rare and previously unreleased studio and live tracks.
“We’re celebrating twenty-five years of Glass Hammer music over the next several months,” says bassist and co-founder Babb. “Production began on our first album, Journey of the Dunadan in 1992, but it was released in 1993. So we’re making this a two year long celebration of sorts. UNTOLD TALES contains material that actually dates back to our beginnings. We realized we were sitting on a hoard of unreleased material spanning the life of the band. We thought Glass Hammer’s twenty-fifth anniversary was a good time to release much of it.”
UNTOLD TALES includes two cover songs, Hold Your Head Up by Argent, and It’s All Too Much by The Beatles. Babb explains, “Both of these songs were performed live but the studio versions were never heard.” Fans can expect the unexpected on UNTOLD TALES which will include instrumentals by both Kamran Shikoh and Babb, as well as one track that Babb and long time cowriter Fred Schendel wrote featuring drum tracks provided by a very well known percussionist. “How that came to be is perhaps best explained in the album’s extensive liner notes,” Babb said. A live version of No Man’s Land from Glass Hammer’s last studio release, Valkyrie, serves as a fitting finale for this special edition album.
The band has been performing that album live in its entirely at several festivals around the world. UNTOLD TALES features vocalists Walter Moore, Jon Davison, Carl Groves and current front-girl Susie Bogdanowicz as well many other current members and Glass Hammer alumni.
