Ursprünglich 1971 veröffentlicht, war ‘Barclay James Harvest & Other Short Stories‘ das dritte Album der Band und wurde in den Abbey Road Studios aufgenommen und gemeinsam mit dem ehemaligen Mitglied der Pretty Things, Wally Allen, produziert.

Weithin als eines der frühen Meisterwerke der Band angesehen (neben ‘Once Again‘), enthielt ‘...Other Short Stories‘ Klassiker wie ‘Medicine Man‘, ‘Ursula (The Swansea Song)‘, ‘The Poet‘ und das epische ‘After the Day‘.

Das Album wurde bei seiner Veröffentlichung von Harvest Records hoch gelobt und wurde auch von Sire Records in den Vereinigten Staaten mit einigen neu gemischten Versionen von Tracks herausgegeben. Das Album enthielt auch das Barclay James Harvest Symphonieorchester unter der Leitung von Martyn Ford mit Arrangements von Toni Cooke und Martyn Ford.

Dies ist die erste Neuauflage dieses Albums auf Vinyl seit über 30 Jahren.

Originally released in 1971, ‘Barclay James Harvest & Other Short Stories’ was the third by the band and was recorded at Abbey Road studios and co-produced by them with and ex-Pretty Things member Wally Allen.

Widely regarded (along with ‘Once Again’) as one of the band’s early masterpieces, ‘…Other Short Stories’ featured such classic tracks as ‘Medicine Man’, ‘Ursula (The Swansea Song)’, ‘The Poet’ and the epic ‘After the Day’.

The album was critically acclaimed upon its release by Harvest Records and was also issued by Sire Records in the United States with some remixed versions of tracks. The album also featured the Barclay James Harvest symphony orchestra conducted by Martyn Ford with arrangements by Toni Cooke and Martyn Ford.

This is the first vinyl re-issue of this album in over 30 years.
