Neues Progressive Rock Projekt aus Hamburg um Frank Us, der eine namhafte Crew um sich geschart hat:
Mit von der Partie sind Marco Minnemann, Steve Morse, Steve Rothery, Mark Kelly, John Mitchell, Todd Suchermann (Styx), Finally George und einige andere.
‘Con Brio‘ ist das Debütalbum von “Legacy Pilots“, das wiederum ein Projekt des in der Progszene bisher unbekannten “Frank Us“ ist, der für die Verwirklichung seines lange gehegten Traums eine beeindruckende Liste von renommierten Musiker gewinnen konnte. Mit von der Partie sind unter anderem “Finally Georg“ , “Marco Minnemann“, “Steve Morse“ (“Deep Purple“), “Todd Sucherman“ (“Styx“), “Steve Rothery“ und “Mark Kelly“ (“Marillion“) sowie “John Mitchell“ (“Arena“, “It Bites“). “Frank Us“, der die Musik komponiert und produziert hat, spielt selbst auf ‘Con Brio‘ Keyboards, Gitarre und greift auch bei den meisten Titeln zum Mikro.
Das Album soll eine Verbeugung vor den großen Progrock Bands der 70er Jahre sein. Dies ist einerseits deutlich herauszuhören, so feiert der Opener ‘The Emerson Empire‘ ganz klar “ELP“ ab und so gibt es auch immer wieder Reminiszenzen vor allem an “Keith Emerson“ aber auch an Bands wie beispielsweise “Genesis“ oder “Yes“.
Doch andererseits ist ‘Con Brio‘ alles andere als ein Retro- oder gar Neoprogalbum, denn es besticht durch eine sehr moderne, fette und ungemein plastische Produktion. Vertrackte Passagen werden geschickt mit eingängigen Melodien verknüpft, sodass viele Titel zunächst vordergründig leichtfüßig daherkommen. Die oben genannten Musiker veredeln die gelungenen Kompositionen und machen die Scheibe zu einem echten Hörgenuss. “Legacy Pilots“ ist mit ‘Con Brio‘ zum Ende des Jahres ein echtes Highlight gelungen. Frank Us and his friends have created a debut album that delivers an enormous bandwidth and that was clearly inspired by the golden era of progressive rock. Bands like ELP, Genesis, Marillion, UK, Yes, Rush, the early Queen or King Crimson were the influences that cemented Frank's love for this genre.
CON BRIO features many big names in the scene: Marco Minnemann (UK, Steven Wilson), Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Todd Sucherman (STYX), Steve Rothery and Mark Kelly (Marillion) and John Mitchell (Arena, Cinema), to name but a few.
This project not only offers intense music with top-class artists, it also supports the children's aid organization WORLD VISION, which Frank has been helping for so long. For more than one and a half years, Frank Us has been working on the debut of Legacy Pilots. The result is an album that demands attention from the listener. The compositions are deep, providing the artists with the necessary freedom for their art. The incorporated time and tempo changes that create interesting polyrhythms, sound textures that build worlds in the listener’s mind and styles that vary from elegy to emotional outbursts.
