Ursprünglich wurde Lost Not Forgotten Archives bereits 1997 als internationale Fanclub-Sammlung veröffentlicht: The Making of Falling Into Infinity (1997) dokumentiert im Detail die Entstehung des vierten Studioalbums der Band. Diese Sammlung, die den Fans einen seltenen Einblick in den Entstehungsprozess eines Dream Theater-Albums gewährt, wurde neu gemastert und ist nun als Special Edition CD Digipak, Gatefold black 2LP+CD und als Ltd Gatefold dark green 2LP+CD.
