Randy McStine, bekannt von seiner Band Lo-Fi Resistance und mittlerweile zum Tourgitarristen von Porcupine Tree (2022) und Steven Wilson (2025) aufgestiegen, veröffentlicht sein neues Soloalbum.

Dazu sagte er:

„Mutual Hallucinations, an dem ich fast fünf Jahre gearbeitet habe, ist mein bisher ehrgeizigstes Solowerk. Jeder Song lebt in seinem eigenen Universum, und als Ganzes ist das Album rastlos in der Erforschung von Klängen, die gleichzeitig vertraut und undefinierbar sind.
Diese Aufnahmen waren eine wahre Liebesmüh, die oft für lange Zeit zwischen anderen Kollaborationen und Tourneen aufgegeben wurden, aber jetzt ist die Zeit gekommen, in der sie glänzen.
Ich habe die meisten Sounds darauf selbst gemacht, wobei einige großartige Freunde dazu beigetragen haben: Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, Marco Minnemann, Nick D‘Virgilio, Adam Holzman und andere. Das Abmischen der gesamten Arbeit wurde von Steven Wilson, Tim Palmer und Nicholas Morrow (Mix Engineer auf meinem 2017er Album Blank) übernommen. Mastering von Andy VanDette. Randy McStine, best known from his band Lo-Fi Resistance and now touring guitarist for Porcupine Tree (2022) and Steven Wilson (2025), is releasing his first solo album. He commented:
“Nearly five years in the making, Mutual Hallucinations is my most ambitious solo work to date. Each song lives in its own universe, and as a whole, the album is restless in exploring sounds that are both familiar and undefinable at the same time.
These recordings have been a true labor of love, often abandoned for long stretches of time between other collaborations and tours, but its moment to shine has arrived.
I‘ve made most of the sounds on it myself, with some great friends contributing: Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, Marco Minnemann, Nick D‘Virgilio, Adam Holzman and others.
