John Lönnmyr ist ein Rock-Keyboarder und Komponist mit Sitz in Göteborg, Schweden. Seit 2019 ist John Mitglied der Band The Night Flight Orchestra. First and foremost this is serious release, with many quality arrangement solutions, instrumental communications, where the sound richness reveals the great potential of the key person. The sound of keyboards dominates the prepared material, as well as elements of 70’s progressive tendencies that are effectively in touch with contemporary progressive/progressive rock challenges. Considering Mr. Lonnmyr’s experience, as well as his great knowledge of other genre forms, certain themes also contain hidden elements of jazz, as well as more avant-garde forms. Of course, the author and his collaborators also like to improvise, and all this contributes to the strong intensity of the phrases played. The complete album is full of creative ideas, and musically it will appeal to both older and newer fans and followers of progressive tendencies. “Aftonland” is viewed from many angles, a highly recommended release.
